About

Glass

Weill

My name is Matt Weill

As a second-generation glassblower, I was introduced to the art of glass at a young age and quickly fell in love with the heat, precision, and craft of working with molten glass. What began as early exposure in my uncles studio grew into a lifelong dedication to mastering the material.

I have been blowing glass professionally for over ten years and earned my Associate’s degree in scientific glass technology from Salem Community College, where I refined my technical skill. I further deepened my practice through an apprenticeship in Italy, studying traditional techniques and gaining invaluable experience in a country renowned for its centuries-old glassmaking heritage.

My work reflects both tradition and innovation—honoring the generational knowledge passed down to me while continually exploring new forms, techniques, and expressions within glass. Each piece I create carries a deep respect for craftsmanship, material, and the transformative power of heat and light.
